UHY LLP Hiring for Staff Accountant (Client Position) Job at Oak Park, MI Full Time

We are seeking a Staff Accountant for our client in Oak Park, MI. This is a full-time permanent position. Great company culture and benefits!

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Maintain, review and reconcile balance sheet accounts including but are not limited to cash, inventory, credit card receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll, benefits and commission accrual, accrued purchases, purchases returned not credited

Prepare journal entries that include but are not limited to fixed assets, depreciation expense, payroll and benefits accrual, prepaid expenses, distributions, debt, and sales taxes

Analyze and process state sales tax returns through our tax software as well as journalize corresponding entries in the ERP system

Monitor and review inventory adjustments created by our cycle count team

Maintain and organize filing of invoices and other supporting documentation

New vendor set-up and maintenance, ensuring submission of all proper documentation (W9) and approvals before any master data updates

Assist in preparation of revenue and related expense accruals and supporting documentation

Assists in adoption of US GAAP standards including but not limited to researching standard, preparing written accounting policy for company, and preparing new disclosures.

Assist Controller and VP of Finance in preparation of departmental and consolidated budget

Work closely with the Controller to ensure approved accounting policies are carefully adhered to and monitored.

Support quarterly and annual audits.

Assist with related special projects, as required.

Requirements:

3-5 years related work experience.

Direct experience with month-end financial close.

Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or Microsoft ERP suite experience preferred.

Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, etc.)

Bachelors degree (or higher) in a related field required.

Industry experience in a wholesale environment preferred.

Ability to perform financial analysis.

Extremely detail oriented.

Results driven with a “get the job done” mentality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
