This position will report to the Associate Vice President, Learning & Development.
UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.
Anticipated starting salary of $60,000; pay rate negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
Functional:
Identifies UMA target audience’s training needs, working with subject matter experts.
Facilitates engaging and interactive training sessions to a variety of UMA audiences from leadership through front line team members.
Assist with development and implementation of holistic training and development plan, inclusive of positioning of current offerings and proposed new offerings with clearly articulated objectives responsive to UMA’s needs and mission.
Develop training and learning experiences in furtherance of a unified development experience for team members .
Assist with the curation of new offerings from UMA’s LMS (Compass) as well as other learning resources.
Provide professional opinion on tools established for measuring effectiveness of programs.
Review training materials as needed for recency, accuracy, relevance, effectiveness, and inclusivity
Interface with vendors to create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
Contribute thought leadership on training and development in furtherance of the UMA brand.
Engage in personal continuous learning to maintain subject matter expertise.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Support Institutional Initiatives
Keep current on institutional goals, objectives, and progress.
Engage in institutional sponsored activities and initiatives as appropriate.
Support change initiatives that impact the organization and direct others through change.
Coordinate efforts between departments within UMA.
Compliance:
Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, Florida’s Commission on Independent Education, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years of experience in advising on and implementing training and development programs.
3 years’ experience with adult learning theory and training adult learners.
Base of knowledge in training methodology and the creation of effective trainings in alignment with training and development best practices
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Able to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
Able to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English and otherwise interact professionally with other Human Resources team members and those in other UMA departments.
Organizational, follow-up, and time management skills.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,) and other business tools such as Zoom, Microsoft teams, and at least one PDF editing software such as Adobe Acrobat or Foxit
Preferred Requirements
Master’s degree in education, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, or related field.
More than 3 years of experience advising on and implementing training and development programs.
Specific experience in developing holistic employee training and development programs.
Specific process or project management experience and/or Project Management Certification.
Working Environment:
Office, onsite or virtual.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Up to 5% of travel required – Valid Driver’s License required

Requires occasional bending, stooping, and squatting.
Requires occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
