Ultium Cells is a joint venture Lithium-Ion Automotive Battery Cell Manufacturing plant between LG Chem and General Motors. This new construction high-technology plant will have the latest Battery Cell manufacturing technology. The investment in this new business venture represents a commitment of more than $2.3 Billion. It will be among the largest Battery Cell Manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce Battery Cells for General Motors North American electric vehicle applications.

Position Description
This position will be responsible for supervision and management of our 3rd party warehouse activities. This role will manage all containment and sort activities working with the warehouse team to ensure correct material segregation. This position will also manage/support our 3rd party team giving direction on daily activities, driving safe work practices, ensuring quality containment, and tracking throughput. The Warehouse Quality Supervisor must be able to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization (multi-functional teams) to discuss and resolve issues in a timely manner. This position requires self-management in a remote work environment with direction and input from multiple manufacturing sources. This position requires effective time management and coordination abilities. This position will require travel between the Wixom and Lansing locations.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance for quality, safety, and environmental regulations
- Support Team Members and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the quality control and processing of components.
- Track daily progress and communicate to the organization
- Collaborate with other leaders to coordinate activities
- Plan and establish work schedules and assignments to meet shipping goals.
- Support employee training through demonstrating method, safety procedures and quality expectations
- Escalate to leadership and team to resolve concerns as they arise
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications And Competencies
- 3 to 5 Years Industrial or Manufacturing work experience – Supervision Experience required
- Proficient in using MS Office
- Knowledge of electricity, electrical products, raw materials, production processes, automated equipment, manufacturing cost reduction, and other techniques for maximizing the manufacturing efficiency and distribution of goods. (Especially, experience in manufacturing lithium-ion batteries) is preferred.
- Strong coordination abilities and able to liaison between warehouse, 3rd party and ultium employees with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to lead by influence verses direct authority.
- Positive, dedicated attitude, and demonstrated effectiveness to achieve given goals within target dates
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
