This role is responsible for the performance management of Optum Care Network of New York (OCNY) network participants (Health systems, ASCs, SNFs, etc.) in global-risk contracts. This position will be responsible for building relationships with OCNY network participant leadership and executing on the risk, quality and overall population health performance goals of the contract. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Market Operations for the region. This role will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of clinical and business stakeholders across all core value-based care capabilities: Network Development, Population Health Analytics, Quality measure performance, HCC/Risk Adjustment, Provider Engagement/Change Management, Medical Management, and EMR/data integration. This position will be responsible for directly engaging network partner executive leadership, developing and communicating strategic plans and sharing progress, outcomes and opportunities on a regular basis. The position requires solid strategic planning, change management, project management, analytical/problem solving and communication/presentation skills.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Cultivate solid relationships with OCNY network participants at executive leadership and operational level to nurture and grow partnerships
• Lead external meetings with network participant C-suite leadership to drive strategic alignment on operational needs, collaborate on the execution of contract performance goals, and continuously share performance progress
• Manage across multi-disciplinary Optum team of subject matter experts to develop and implement various quality, risk adjustment and clinical initiatives to drive program performance with OCNY network participants
• Support scoping of analytics deliverables and interpretation of findings to identify operational gaps and prioritize program interventions
• Collaborate with analytics and finance teams to ensure OCNY network participants receive regular cadence of IPA performance and financial reporting
• Develop PowerPoint presentations that outline partnership responsibilities/goals, create operational alignment, share current performance through transparent analytics and reporting and highlight opportunities for improvement.  
• Identifies and problem solves the day-to-day operational needs of OCNY network participants/providers and appropriately triages needs across multi-disciplinary team
• Collaborate with Quality and Physician Engagement teams to provide OCNY network participating providers with education that aligns with contract performance goals 
• Manage direct report(s) to highest levels of performance and support culture of continuous learning and growth

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience

Required Qualifications: 

• 6+ years of managed care operations at health insurance company, healthcare consulting firm or integrated delivery system 
• 3+ years of leadership/management experience
• Experience working in client/external-facing role
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Understanding of healthcare value-based concepts, payment methodology, and fee for service reimbursement methodologies across various specialties and facilities

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Understanding of financial pro formas and P&L development
• Proven ability to develop contextually rich presentations to clearly communicate complex concepts
• Proven excellent organization skills with an ability to multitask across projects in a variety of subject matter areas and manage up to ensure milestones are met

New York Residents Only: The salary range for New York residents is $85,000 to $167,300 per year.
