The Job Details: The Yard Driver position consists of working in one or more of the following areas: Handling inventory and maintenance, communication with shipping and receiving. We are looking for dependable hardworking individuals with good work habits and a willingness to be cross trained in all three areas. In addition, we need someone who works well with others and is self-motivated. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Assist supervision/management as needed

• Placing trailers in/out of doors

• Yard inventory

• Temperature check and set on trailers

• Yard inspection and sanitation in the yard

• Cultivate well-trained workforce, including support of performance-management, and training of yard hostlers.

• Work with the transport team to manage yard-based transport requirements.

• Demonstrate personal responsibility for, and ensure compliance with, all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives within a team

• Support and ensure team compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives

• Make sure all drop trailers are clean and fueled

• Maintain yard security in accordance with company requirements.

• Monitors safety and speed of all drivers entering and exiting yard.

• Communicate daily with fellow supervisors and managers on daily operational activities

• Send emails out to different carries to maintain inventories and pre-loads for the day.

• Send emails for all the inbounds for the next day.

• Verify all containers are secured at the end of shift, follow company guidelines for truck gate security and monitoring.

The Job Specifics:

• Location: McClellan Park
• Schedule & Hours:8am to 5:30pm with Flexibility. Mon-Friday.
• Pay: $20.00 an hour.
• Reports To: Warehouse Superintendent

What We Are Looking For:

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• 1 to 3 years preferred.

• Excellent communication skills, written and oral

• Candidates will be required to successfully complete a mechanical aptitude test.
