United Systems and Software, Inc. (USSI) is seeking to hire an Entry Level Software Engineer who loves to learn and is motivated to launch their technology career. USSI will provide onsite, on-the-job training and mentorship for all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle from inception to running code in new and existing applications. Candidates will learn how to implement their existing programming knowledge as well as additional programming languages like RPG ILE (Report Program Generator), HTML, WebSphere Development Studio, and Visual Basic. Eventually, the right candidate will develop, modify, and maintain custom and standardized applications, provide programming support, debug applications, implement new features, and assist clients.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $45,000 – $55,000 annually

Required Education and Technical Skills:
Must be authorized to work in the US
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. C++, .NET, Java, Python, Ruby). Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle process.
Understanding of computer science fundamentals (e.g., algorithms, data structures, design patterns, networking, operating systems).
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong desire to learn to code – No prior professional experience required.
Adaptable team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and experience with SaaS applications.
Knowledge of white/black box testing tools and techniques.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Experience developing and consuming APIs (REST, SOAP).
Working understanding of front-end technologies such as Angular, React, Vue, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn new programming languages to assist in application maintenance.
Experience all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle from inception to running your code in production environments for new and existing applications.
Work cohesively with the technical and development teams to develop modifications and new applications.
Follow established practices and procedures.
Aim to gain knowledge of different forms of coding languages
