The University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) – Psychiatry – Center for Mental Health Services Research has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist, Business Operations. The Department of Psychiatry has a tripartite mission of Clinical, Education, and Research agendas, serving our surrounding community and the State of Maryland, and providing expertise at a national and international level. We are staffed with 85 full-time and 30 part-time faculty, and provide a robust array of evidenced-based services both locally at the University of Maryland Medical Center and remotely to the entire University of Maryland Medical System that encompasses 13 hospitals. The selected candidate will perform duties that support the department’s mission.

Essential Functions
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, or other related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of business related experience to position required, with at least one (1) year experience in at least two of the following: human resources, payroll, finance, facility, or research administration.
Other: Related experience may be substituted for minimum education.

Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. The Hiring Range for this position is in the $60,000s, commensurate with education and experience.
