The University of New Mexico, Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI), is looking for an HR professional for a HR Administrator 2 position. As a nationally accredited program with a strong educational component in The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, the OMI investigates any death occurring in New Mexico that is sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected or where a person is found dead and the cause of death is unknown. The OMI, which is a special program within the Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death in these cases, and provides formal death certification. As part of the leadership team, the HR Administrator 2 will provide oversight and direction to the OMI for classification, compensation, employee relations, and recruitment and retention efforts.
This position will be part of OMI administration and will be responsible for the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of human resources policies, procedures, and programs that support the mission of the OMI.
Assignment Details:
Days & Hours: 8-5, Monday to Friday
Anticipated Start Date: as soon as possible
Projected End Date: six months from date of hire
Parking Arrangements: Responsibility of the selected employee

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with OMI’s mission
Reporting to management and providing decision support through HR metrics
Identifying, evaluating and solving hiring challenges
Mediating and suggesting solutions to employee disputes
Assessing training needs and deploying/monitoring training programs
Managing the recruitment and selection process
Managing department personnel files
