Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced full Time (100% FTE), day shift Human Resource Coordinator
Provide assistance to the HR Department Manager through communication of new and existing programs, to uphold the pillar of being the Employer of Choice. Under general supervision, independently perform a variety of paraprofessional human resource duties in one or more functional areas. With an estimated 200+ FTE, it is essential for operations to run at optimal staffing levels while keeping records current and organized. This includes supporting ongoing recruitment and retention efforts, record keeping, communicating to staff in a timely and consistent manner through our newsletter and email, providing existing departmental policy support for updates and new policies, promoting and marketing employee engagement activities, and maintaining our employee engagement software, TINYPulse. This position will also provide interpretation of HR and recruitment policies and will participate in budget development. Actively support an environment of teamwork, cooperation, performance excellence and personal success; promote an atmosphere of warmth, compassion, and understanding while demonstrating empathy and the ability to relate to individuals. Exercises independent judgement to prioritize work tasks and deciding work methods.
Responsibilities:
Interpret, explain, and apply institutional and other human resource rules, policies, regulations or procedures.
Conduct training and/or orientation in human resource rules and institution policies and procedures.
Analyze and summarize data and prepare reports using computerized and/or manual systems; coordinate the maintenance of computerized human resource information or other recordkeeping systems; verify accuracy of records and document adjustments; maintain confidential records.
Develop and implement internal office procedures; recommend changes in procedures or rules to facilitate effectiveness.
Participate in budget development by analyzing equipment needs and purchases and tracking budget utilization.
Decision making authority to complete phone screens, reference checks, coordinate interviews and offers to meet the monthly goal of Contact Center Representatives required for upholding operational needs.
Work closely with recruitment to support job fairs and other outreach activities.
Completion of hiring and separation paperwork, and personnel file organization to meet records requirements.
Support administrative tasks essential to the onboarding of new hire employees.
Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of human resource documents such as salary records, and employee data forms.
Receive requests for public records from employees or members of the public; provide or verify public information requested.
Participate in weekly attendance Task force and supervisor meetings.
Create and develop the Contact Center’s quarterly newsletter.
Ensure department policies are clear and easy to find.
Be the central point of contact for the employee engagement software, TINY Pulse.
Coordinate and support employee engagement strategies with staff including event days and communication forums such as the Leadership Q & A meetings.
Assisting with the employee engagement group, the Contact Center Cares Committee, by planning events, creation of newsletters, fundraising, etc.
Attend and document the Joint Labor Meetings.
Support monthly Leadership Q&A meeting by assisting with communication and facilitation.
Maintain the Leadership Bio’s on SharePoint.
Monitor and distribute the Employee Service Awards.
Market mental, physical and financial well- being resources the employees, incorporating Whole U activities and resources.
Communicate and organize the monthly employee development workshops/training.
Represent the department on intra- or inter-institutional human resource committees.
May direct and review the work of assigned support staff.
Perform the duties of Human Resource Assistant.
Perform related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:REQUIREMENTS:
High School/GED AND four years of office or administrative support experience OR equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient with the Microsoft Office
Experience with recruitment and policy management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Four years of office experience including two years of increasingly responsible experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.
