Responsibilities:
Responsible for the oversight and direction of all clinical and technical aspects of assigned practices in a manner consistent with established Policies and Procedures; responsibility for all aspects of clinic operations and ensures an efficient operational environment that meets the needs and expectations of physicians, patients, and staff; establishes partnership with administrators and physicians in the practices; communicates policies and procedures to the nurses, office personnel and medical technical staff and ensures compliance; oversees and ensures the effective and efficient operating process of the clinics including patient and paper flow and staff work environment; prepares reports regarding clinic utilization and productivity; reviews and recommends approval of the selection and purchase of medical supplies and equipment; assists in the development of strategic plans; assists in the development and implementation of an efficient organizational structure and staffing plan to meet the requirements of assigned practices; assists in the development and maintenance of position descriptions and prepares required paperwork for staff positions; assists in interviewing and recommending staff; identifies needs for staff development and ensures that staff are adequately trained and appropriately licensed, certified, and credentialed; monitors staff performance; prepares staff evaluations; handles disciplinary issues; reviews and approves employee attendance, time off and leaves of absence; ensures compliance with applicable HCFA, Risk Management , OSHA, CUA, and other federal, state, and institutional regulations; develops and implements educational programs for patients; performs clinical nurse activities as needed including assisting physicians, triaging patients, and performing special procedures; conducts staff meetings; develops and recommends implementation of standing orders and protocols; conducts periodic evaluations of the effectiveness and efficiency of operations including time studies and chart reviews; serves on various committees as clinical nurse consultant for health system transitions of care; assists assigned clinics with JCAHO accreditation or NCQA recognition; assists Assistant Administrator with development of practice dashboards and monitoring the budget to include both revenues and expenses; assists charge clinical nurses or clinic nurse supervisors with administration of employee health programs; assists charge nurses or clinic nurse supervisors with implementation of appropriate Electronic Health Records; as an integral member of the service line delivery, works with other practice clinic operations managers, hospital nursing managers and administrators to implement best practices as appropriate for assigned clinics; ensures high quality care and a seamless continuum of care between the ambulatory and acute care settings; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the state of Alabama and five years professional nursing experience, three of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and USA Health and four years professional nursing experience, two of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity; and current Alabama RN license or current Multi-State RN License in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama. Note: USA Health abides by the NLC requirements and guidelines for the state of Alabama. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
