DESCRIPTION:
As a Breast Sonographer you will be responsible for providing quality patient care while performing diagnostic and screening breast ultrasounds. You must have the ability to safely operate ultrasound equipment and support physicians in the diagnosis process. Demonstrate knowledge of clinical procedures, equipment and policies that are necessary for job performance. You will properly prepare and protect patients for procedures to ensure their safety and comfort. We have an immediate opening for a Per Diem Breast Sonographer for our office located in Bay Ridge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare patients for US breast exams and explains the procedure to the patients prior to exam
Review patient medical records to verify physician’s order prior to examination
Prepare exams reports on all studies performed and other necessary paperwork for interpretation by the physician
Responsible for exposure and positioning quality assurance of film images
Monitor the equipment to evaluate the quality and consistency of the diagnostic images and makes the required adjustments
Maintain and stock room with proper supplies necessary to complete radiologic examinations
Communicate effectively with Manager, Coordinator, Leads, Physicians, and other personnel in a professional manner
Demonstrate knowledge and proper use of computer programs
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited program in Ultrasound or College-based two-year training program with clinical education in accredited health care setting.
Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required.
Prior experience as an Ultrasound Technologist in a hospital or outpatient environment.
At least 1 year of experience in mammography or breast sonography.
