Part of the global Velan family, Velan Valves has been manufacturing high quality valves in Williston since 1978. Supporting the US employees of Velan Valves, our HR Generalist will provide day-to-day support, assist with our robust training program, and work to improve the experience of our employees!
Responsibilities include:
Benefits administration: orientation & enrollments; open enrollment execution; invoice validation and submission
Recruiting: job posting, prescreening, setting interviews, making offers, managing pre-employment screening
Manager support: assist 1st line managers with employee issues, coaching, development
File maintenance: standard filing, creation of new files, term file maintenance & destruction, including I9s
Union upkeep: reporting, postings
Onboarding and offboarding
Payroll assistance: paperwork coordination, assistance with missed punches, paycheck distribution
Training Coordination: data entry for training activities, including Law 90 (Canadian training requirements). Assist with other training functions as requested, including room coordination; processing invoices for outside training vendors; and other coordination/data entry tasks.
Event coordination: summer BBQ, holiday gifts, etc
Golden Valve coordination & communication (recognition program)
The successful candidate will have a GED, high school diploma, or college degree, preferably with 1-3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or Coordinator. Candidates should be well-versed in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and be truly committed to providing a great employee experience. Experience with benefits admin and recruiting is a huge plus! This job is on-site, Monday – Friday. Start time can be anytime between 7am and 830am.
