Position Summary:
The HR Campus Partner serves as the primary HR contact and as a credible, trusted advisor to their assigned area(s) of campus. As a champion and change agent, the Campus Partner effectively liaises between central HR and the areas they support, providing responsive, strategic, transparent human resources consulting services in areas including but not limited to employee relations, compliance, organizational development, change management, performance management, DEI, training and development, benefits, compensation, recruitment and retention, and efforts related to improving and sustaining a mission-centered work culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the development and implementation of the assigned department(s)’ strategic initiatives. Provide guidance and input ensuring that HR processes are applied appropriately and in a legally compliant manner.
Collaborates with and maintains strong relationships with HR centers of excellence to ensure continuity of guidance, advice and problem-solving.
Engages with leadership of assigned departments to assess and anticipate HR-related needs and align efforts toward a common goal in order to develop viable solutions. Meet regularly with the assigned departments, building and developing trusted relationships with the leadership and staff.
Consults with the assigned department(s) with navigating employee relations issues while assisting the manager on best practices.
Provides guidance to departments on workers’ compensation, FMLA, and other leaves of absence in collaboration with the Benefits Analyst to ensure operational continuity.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of policies and procedures related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Provides consultation and guidance for all phases of the recruiting process with hiring managers and search committees, i.e. planning of staffing projections, applicant pool development, posting and advertising, screening and selection while partnering with the talent management team.
Provides confidential and strategic consultation in areas such as performance management, coaching/mentoring, and development of strategic workforce planning.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or as become evident
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 5+ years of professional HR experience required; Preferably in higher education setting.
Must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding and experience working with multiple human resource disciplines, for example, employee relations, compensation practices, performance management, staffing, employment, etc. Familiarity with employment laws and HR best practices is a necessity in the areas of but not limited to employment, compliance and employee relations.

Must be able to protect confidentiality of information at a high level.
Excellent customer service support skills with demonstrated evidence of strong business acumen including the ability to understand the diverse needs of the faculty, staff and managers they support and adjusting services in accordance with those needs and requirements. Excellent conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
HR certification (such as PHR or SHRM-CP) and/or master’s degree in HR, business, counseling, organizational development or related field.
Strategic thinker with knowledge of the changing demographics and trends of higher education.
Project management skills.
