JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist II is responsible for performing a broad range of HR-related duties in the areas of recruiting, human resources administration, training, benefits administration, and employee relations. Establishing strong and effective working relationships with internal/external customers to promote and support positive employee relations, agency culture, and employee engagement efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Recruitment/Onboarding. Partners with Program Directors to execute recruiting initiatives for the agency. Manages the applicant tracking system. Conducts candidate interviews. Executes the onboarding process for candidates. Provides timely updates to Programs.
B. Benefits. Administers various benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plans and COBRA coverage. Notifies employees of benefit eligibility and conducts enrollment sessions with employees as needed to ensure that enrollments/qualifying life events are completed within applicable timeframes. Administers the Agency s Family Medical Leave program.
C. Training. Works closely with the HR Director and Learning & Development Specialist to ensure new and existing employees are assigned the appropriate training classes in the Relias Learning Management system. Facilitates monthly New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions as needed. Conducts individual and group training sessions on various software systems.
D. Compliance. Creates, reviews, and audits employee personnel files to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, as well as Department of Health and Hospitals, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and other applicable funder requirements.
E. Special Projects. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Non-essential)
Provides guidance to employees in the interpretation of policies and procedures.
Participates in Employee Relations and workplace investigations as directed by HR Director.

Community Partners/Workforce training program coordinators Benefit brokers and carriers.
Background check and fingerprinting vendors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
This position requires knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university specializing in human resource management, human resource development, or other job-related disciplines. SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
2 to 4 years progressively responsible and related experience (or equivalent combination of higher education and experience), preferably in a non-profit and/or human services environment.
Critical and analytical thinker with general knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and principles of Human Resources and Benefits.
Self-starter with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Strong professional ethics which include approaching others in a tactful manner; reacting well under pressure; treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepting responsibility for own actions; following through on commitments.
Strong working knowledge of databases and other computer software, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and HR database systems.
Ability to work flexible hours and travel is required.

Must have:
Current driver s license issued by the state of residence
Current Vehicle Inspection decal
Current vehicle insurance
Current vehicle registration in the state of residence
Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear, or carry light training materials and/or equipment.
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds when preparing/transferring training materials and equipment.
Visual acuity necessary to operate computers, audiovisual and other digital equipment
