Summary of Duties
and Responsibilities
The Controller serves a critical role on the finance and administration team and is responsible for
coordinating the administrative and operational activities associated with the collection and disbursements of funds; accounting, financial
reporting and budgeting of all financial transactions of the College, which has a general fund operating budget in excess of $45 million and
a balance sheet of $400 million. The Controller establishes and monitors appropriate procedures, processes, and systems to assure that the
College’s financial records and financial statements accurately reflect the financial performance and resources of the College.
The Controller ensures the College’s compliance with external requirements including, but not limited to, financial reporting and
accounting standards; state and federal tax laws; federal grant and cost accounting standards; accountable plan rules; data and information
security. The Controller manages debt administration and compliance activities and oversees endowment accounting and cash management
processes.
The Controller will provide leadership and direction for the configuration and maintenance of the chart of accounts and
enterprise information systems that support all business processes. The Controller will ensure appropriate internal controls are in place;
lead the development, review, and implementation of business processes to support operational efficiency and business continuity; and lead
change and training on business processes for the college.
The Controller supervises a team of four staff.
