A Water Service Investigator I assists in conducting a variety of field investigations in connection with water service malfunctions, interruptions and complaints; receives training and performs selected phases of investigative work on a progressively responsible basis; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy Information:
There is one (1) vacancy with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Customer Care Division, located in Honolulu. This position conducts field investigations, tests and inspections of limited scope and complexity to determine the cause of interruptions, reduction of water service, and complaints of abnormal bills. Assists higher level investigators in the more difficult investigational work dealing with locating of underground leaks and pipes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One year of public contact work experience which shall have involved interviewing, investigative or other fact finding activities.
Such experience must have demonstrated the knowledge of basic principles and practices of public relations; basic investigative, interviewing and fact finding methods and techniques; and the ability to gather, analyze and evaluate data.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Valid Hawaii State driver’s license (Type 3/automobile), prior to appointment.
