Overview of the HR Generalist role:
The HR Generalist will be a key team member on the Human Resources team at Wayspring and will report into the HR Manager. The Human Resources Generalist will manage the pre-boarding and onboarding process for all Wayspring new hires and serve as the main point of contact for all company new hires and hiring leaders for pre-employment and onboarding questions. This role will be a subject matter expert for Wayspring’s HRIS system and will work closely with HR leaders on engagement, training, employee relations, off-boarding, and talent acquisition projects. This role will have high visibility will all leaders within the organization and will be able to impact and create change without silos!
Responsibilities of the HR Generalist:
Manages full-cycle process for pre-boarding and onboarding for all Wayspring new hires
Serves as the point-of-contact for all new hire candidates for Wayspring and communicates with all new hires to ensure a positive onboarding experience
Acts as the subject matter expert for the company HR management system and oversees day-to-day operational processes within the HR system
Manages full cycle processes for pre-boarding and onboarding all Wayspring new hires, including background check, pre-employment verification and licensure tracking processes
Plans, schedules, and facilitates new employee orientations to foster positive attitude toward company goals and an effective hand-off to operations
Assists in scheduling, documentation and facilitating all company trainings and internal meetings
Partners with HR leadership to ensure critical or recurring issues have a resolution plan
Responds to employee inquiries of moderate complexity regarding policies, procedures, and programs
Assists in the management of the Wayspring Employee Handbook
Assists in employee engagement and manage internal feedback, communication, survey results and human resources projects
Delivers on business-critical HR initiatives and projects providing front-line implementation support and guidance
Works closely with leadership and colleagues to improve work relationships, team member engagement, drive culture and increase productivity and retention
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
Identify training needs for markets and individual executive coaching needs.
Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success and ensures training objectives are met for all new hires
Supports with offboarding tasks as requested from HR Leadership
Performs other duties as required, assigned, or requested
Adhere to Wayspring information security and privacy requirements
Requirements:
2+ years in a Human Resources Coordinator or Human Resource Generalist role, while managing or assisting in onboarding processes
2+ years in working within a Human Resources management system
Must possess a general passion for people and enjoys helping others
Demonstrated success as a self-starter who takes initiative, brings new ideas to the table and challenges standing process for company improvement
Strong written and oral communication skills and can effectively deliver updates and announcements
Ability to forge strong relationships, to establish rapport, and to relate to others with diverse backgrounds in a manner fostering respect and compassion
Ability to gain support and commitment from others, to promote ideas and proposals persuasively and energetically, and to determine the needs and interests of others
Ability to accurately assess strengths and development needs of employees, to provide timely and specific feedback and helpful coaching/direction to hiring leaders and new hires
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing and/or owning onboarding processes for new hires
Experience in a startup organization with the ability to adapt and champion change with ease
Experience in collecting, managing, and tracking healthcare licensure during the onboarding process and ongoing
