Responsibilities
The primary role of the Practice Improvement Consultant is to oversee the development, management and implementation of WellStar Medical Group initiatives to support process improvement and transformation across the medical group. The Consultant will work with organizational leaders including providers and team members to hardwire best practices to support and enhance care delivery. The Consultant may lead multiple project workstreams for multiple clients; small engagement teams or components of large, complex engagements.
The Consultant is responsible for project execution and delivery, governance, prioritization, resource planning, execution tools, training, and monthly reporting as they apply to assigned projects and new/improved processes. This role includes both administrative (organizational) and strategic (consultative) responsibilities for managing projects/initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education
- BS or BA Degree required; Master’s degree (MPH / MHA / MBA / etc.) or other professional graduate degree required
Required Minimum Certification
- Lean certification required to be obtained within two years of hire date
Required Minimum Experience
- 1-3 years of process improvement experience within healthcare highly preferred to facilitate and apply critical thinking skills to resolve issues and problems
- 5 or more years of experience within a healthcare environment strongly preferred with superior critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience consulting and influencing change at the leadership and clinician level required
- Experience leading complex, multi-site process improvement initiatives in healthcare organization(s)
- Experience in coaching and mentoring others in the concepts and tools of process improvement
- Project Management / Consulting experience in an ambulatory environment strongly preferred
