Westfield Family Physicians, PC Hiring for Medical Billing Clerk Job at Westfield, NY Full Time

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform for all Accounts Receivable (A/R) duties including but not limited to:

• Print & work A/R reports.
• Call on and follow up on unpaid accounts.
• Print and process paper insurance claims.
• Maintain accurate and detailed account documentation referencing A/R and outstanding claims follow up.
• Assume responsibility for follow up on all outstanding A/R.
• Prepare and submit provider inquiries and corrected claims to carriers for payment.
• Process appeals for denied insurance payments
• Gather and forward the insurance information for additional information necessary for claims payment.
• Answer phones in billing department.
• Assist patients in understanding their ledger, insurance payments, and patient co-insurance when called upon.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of work for review by department manager.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
• Process workers compensation claims.
• Open and distribute daily mail.
• Enter patient and insurance payments.
• Perform charge entries

Qualifications: *

• Knowledge of medical insurances and claim correction preferred not required
• EMR/PMS experience, preferably MEDENT.
• Familiarity of electronic re-submissions.
• Microsoft office knowledge, Excel and Outlook preferred not required
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service skills

Salary and Benefits: * Wage rate dependent on work experience
