Accountant
The McKay Group of Companies is one of North America’s largest tillage tool manufacturers. We currently have an opening for an Accounting/Bookkeeper for our Wiese Industries, Inc. operation located in Perry, Iowa.
Position Overview
Our company is looking for an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper with primary responsibilities including cost accounting, recording, maintaining, and reconciling accounting transactions in a timely, precise manner and inventory control.
Accountant Position Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize all accounting records for the day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that redundant processes in place for every critical operation are functioning
- Organize all routine registers and carry out analysis on data as requested
- Perform all month end and year end processing, reports and prepare financial statements
- Report Use Sales tax
- Process Accounts Payable daily with weekly check runs
- Primary role in inventory control
- Additional responsibilities as determined and required
Ideal Skill Set of Accountant
- Strong work ethic and team player
- Strong sense of personal accountability
- Computer literate, ideally with Sage 100 and Excel
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills
- Manufacturing and cost accounting background preferred
- Good communicator, organized, and a high level of self discipline
- Agricultural market knowledge is an asset.
Educational Requirements
- College/University Degree with a Major in Accounting or a Technical Institute Certificate in Accounting is preferred but not required. Direct, relevant experience will be considered.
- Sage 100, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access training and or in-depth experience is a plus. We use Sage 100 and Excel daily.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
