About the Role
You will be part of the Pottery Barn Kids & Teen Decorative Accessories Design team responsible for
designing, developing, and delivering new decor. This role can span across our functional wall décor,
decorative wall décor, storage, seasonal décor and lighting. Our team’s focus is to deliver new
innovative functional decor in addition to supporting our core collections seasonally.
Responsibilities
• Identify key trends and translate into concept that responds to the business need
• Build on seasonal concepts and support design presentations with new designs
• Ensure all product development deadlines and key calendar dates are met
• Through clear understanding of design vision and business objectives, support the design and
development process from initial concept through final approval
• Gather market data on industry trends through comp shopping, trade show attendance, etc.,
and integrate into seasonal concepts and strategies
• Prepare and present design work in cross functional presentations to senior management
• Create design renders, technical specs and comments that are clear and concise for internal
teams and overseas vendors
• Collaborate with product development, sourcing and merchandising teams and build strong
relationships
• Assist with day to day sample management as well as staging and styling physical product in our
concept space
• Track department samples and ensures all samples are approved in a timely manner
Criteria
• 5+ years product design experience
• Degree in design or equivalent experience
• Must have an aspirational taste-level with an eye for interiors and designer aesthetic
• Must have vast knowledge of material finishes, ie. metal finishes, resin, wood finishes, natural
woven materials, ceramics, fabrics, etc.
• Deadline driven with the ability to balance multiple projects at one time, fast on completing
tasks with a quick turn around on requests
• Ability to produce technical drawings for vendors within set deadlines
• Creative and inspirational thinker and a passion for design
• Full proficiency in Mac operating systems with skilled excellence in Illustrator, Photoshop, and
PowerPoint
• Ability to work onsite in our San Francisco office

The expected starting pay range for this position is $92,000 – $106,300. Applicable pay ranges may differ
across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors
permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components
