Overview of the role:
This position is vital to the Distribution Center (DC) operations and to our goal of satisfying our customers by controlling inventory accuracy, receipt of goods, and shipments to customers. The Distribution Center Supervisor plans and assigns work tasks to the team members in a manner that allows everyone to be successful in their role. This position provides instruction, guidance, coaching and follow-up on their daily work assignments and ensures that new employees are trained adequately with a thorough orientation in all areas including safety.
Specific Responsibilities of this role:
- Train employees on our safety guidelines and promote/ensure a clean and safe work environment. Ensures that all new hires go through a thorough orientation process at time of assignment.
- Maintain accurate entry of electronic timecards for the shift and approve them each week. Maintain accurate tracking of absenteeism.
- Assist where needed and assigned by the Director of Operations.
- Monitor accuracy and productivity results and coaches team members to excel in their job functions.
- Maintain an accurate inventory and shipping performance (99% or better) by following the disciplines associated with the WMS. Assist in functional guidance of inventory counts Performs data entry as needed of receipts, productivity performance and inventory maintenance.
- Ensures that receiving personnel report Vendor Compliance infractions as they occur.
- Adhere to and enforce all Human Resource, quality, operations and safety policies.
Successful Candidate Profile:
- High school diploma required, and some college work preferred.
- 3+-years of warehouse experience preferred
- Proficient in the safe operation of various types of forklifts, electric jack and RF scanners.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word and Outlook), WMS systems and/or AS400 equivalent.
- Ability to handle and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Aptitude for problem solving and removing bottlenecks from process flow.
- Strong math, analytical and reading skills
