Goal is to create a meaningful education that is not only about academic achievement, but also nurturing the unique potential of each student on their journey to becoming successful and happy people, who can confidently take their place and make a difference in an ever-changing world.Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interest, and abilities of students.Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.Assess the accomplishments of the students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.Diagnose the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialist as required.Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.Other duties as assigned by building principal and/or her designee.
