Responsibilities:

• Manage and support the HR Coordinator roles, including onboarding, recreation and housing. Supervise and direct the HR Coordinators’ daily workloads, projects, training, schedules, and more as necessary.
• Assist HR Director in handling employee relations issues including conflict resolution, resolving employee complaints, and investigating complaints of harassment, discrimination or retaliation. Conduct effective and thorough workplace investigations and make recommendations for remedial measures where appropriate.
• Serve as a resource and offer guidance to all levels of management with respect to employee relations issues, HR policies and procedures, and compliance with California labor laws.
• Partner with all levels of management in resolving employee relations issues. Advise and counsel management on employee performance issues. Assist with performance documentation including employee feedback, coaching, corrective actions, and employee terminations.
• Maintain knowledge of Xanterra company benefits and be able to answer questions and help employees enroll and access their benefits.
• Manage employee leave of absence requests.
• Create and maintain a strong working relationship with the Accounting/Payroll team to ensure paperwork and data entry information is submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist Directors and Department Managers with personnel actions/transactions.
• Process transfers, new hires/rehires, promotions, terminations and status changes in Cloudsuite (HRIS), including performance of data entry and mass uploads of information.
• Have a thorough working knowledge and hands-on experience using HRIS systems and KRONOS for data entry, employee record keeping, reporting and benefit management.
• Assist Directors and Department Managers with Kronos access and timesheet questions.
• Help with the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of planned recreational activities.
• Assist with the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Employee Recognition Program.
• Manage employee housing assignments and housing inspections. Resolve housing issues as they occur. Involve senior management as necessary.
• Coordinate company response to unemployment claims with outside vendor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Three+ years of human resources management experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State and local employment laws. California employment law knowledge preferred.
• Strong leadership skills including outstanding written, oral and interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate flexibility and an ability to work with a very diverse group.
• Excellent planning, organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
• Maintain high quantity and quality performance in a fast-paced, frequently changing, demanding environment.
• Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently.
• Efficient and accurate data entry skills; must possess extreme attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office software such as: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Infor CloudSuite, Lawson, Kronos, iCIMS, Smartsheet experience a plus.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee issues and records required.
• PHR, PHRca, SPHR or SHRM-CP a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
• TIPS and ServSafe certification desirable.
