Zillow’s New Construction (NC) business is building the largest and most vibrant platform for new construction Builders and home shoppers. The Strategy and Analytics team wears many hats. We guide the formation and execution of our business strategy. We are responsible for defining and measuring success for our Sales and Ops teams. We partner closely with Finance, Product, and Data Science to identify new revenue opportunities and customer solutions. Most significantly, we build new business models and ultimately plan, test, pilot and deploy our ideas!

This role will report to the Director of Strategy & Analytics and work regularly with the leadership team of the New Construction business. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your business savvy and analytical know-how to make a large impact. In this role you will influence our product roadmap, craft business cases and product briefs and innovate on new monetization models. You’ll typically work on several initiatives simultaneously, each moving at their own pace, including considerable ownership over one or more revenue tests or pilot projects.
What does success look like?
Within 30 days, you will familiarize yourself with Zillow’s organizational structure, meet some of its leaders, build working relationships with your peers on other teams and begin to explore key data assets. You’ll be observing and learning as well as participating in recurring meetings to gain context.
Within 60 days you will be familiar with our key product offerings, monetization strategies, our annual operating plan, and current objectives and targets (OKRs). You’ll own several small to medium research projects and begin actively shaping the decisions the team makes.
Within 90 days you will establish key relationships with leaders in and outside the business group, and will have made at least one significant strategic recommendation to senior executives related to product, monetization or GTM strategy.
Within 6 months you will be driving collaboration across teams for your work. You will influence near-term strategic priorities and the long-term vision of opportunistic work. You will produce accurate and thoughtful assessments and advance impactful initiatives, while balancing a variety of priorities and goals.
In one year you will be an authority on our business, be a trusted advisor, and have an influential role in the planning and decision making processes that shape our 3-year vision and the long term product roadmap. You will be hyper focussed on innovation that supports rapid revenue growth as well as testing and delivering on your ideas.
Strategize – Work on unique product and monetization strategies across our business

Improve – Implement plans, processes and methods that support rapid, scalable growth
Analyze – Draft opportunity briefs and build financial models to assess new ideas, and help prioritize the most impactful work.
Influence – Partner with our Product, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, and Marketing teams to identify and improve on new opportunities, as well as shape the vision of others
Operate – Identify potential challenges to success, determine how to get things done, then make it happen
Build – create frameworks for doing “strategy” work, enriching the strategy function at Zillow with repeatable and reusable techniques, tools and methods
Advise – Regularly provide recommendations and your unique point of view to leaders and decision makers
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $96,300.00 – $153,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Bachelor’s degree – including liberal-arts degrees
MBA, MS or equivalent experience
5+ years of demonstrated ability in consulting, big-tech or a high growth startup environment. Minimum 3+ years of experience in corporate, operations or product strategy.
Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with a track record of building sophisticated data models and compelling presentations
Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to develop and deliver insights in a succinct, thoughtful and persuasive manner
Strong project management skills, with experience at all stages of the project lifecycle
PMP certification
Working familiarity with digital advertising (you know all about CPMs, CPCs, and CTRs)
Proficiency with SQL (R or Python are a bonus)
