As an Accountant with a Payroll emphasis, you will contribute to the success of the company as a financial gate-keeper and work side-by-side with the Assistant Controller. This is a high-visibility position effectively and efficiently working to achieve goals to help support leadership.
We are looking for a hands-on, self-starter and fast learner. You must be very organized and able to work within our entrepreneurial culture. This is a hands-on position providing for the opportunity to learn the industry while contributing to organization success through your accounting expertise.
-Weekly payroll processing for employees and Independent Contractor Settlements and all functions associated with processing weekly payroll- garnishments, W-2’s, W-4’s, 1099’s.
– Information, primarily financial in nature, about company activities that will assist management and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company’s future.
– Manages accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable. You are both a Hands-on worker and Leader, helping develop and nurture best practices.
– Assist with preparing financial reports ensuring they are prepared in a timely and accurate manner in accordance to US GAAP standards.
-Assist with month-end closing and accounts review.
-Oversees customer invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
-Other duties as assigned.

Experience in transportation & logistics is a plus.
Computer Proficiency – Must be knowledgeable of PC applications like Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Must be able to manage tasks to completion and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Ability to work well under pressure and multitask.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
EDUCATION TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of corporate accounting/ finance experience with a strong command of US GAAP rules is required.
Strong experience with Excel using VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and spreadsheets.
