Employee and Labor Relations Manager
Revere Copper Products is looking for an Employee and Labor Relations Managerwith experience in the manufacturing industry to join our respected team of professionals in Rome, NY. Senior Vice President Human Resources
Summary:
Member of the HR Team. Actively partner with operations leadership to align the people needs of the organization with business goals and direction. Support leaders and supervisors to proactively address workplace issues using a behavioral management approach (BMT). Influence and guide the development of a high performance workplace culture that motivates and retains employees. Lead the company’s labor relations process. Engage union leadership to align with company direction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Partner
· Regularly meet with operations leaders and establish a clear understanding of their needs regarding people, performance and labor relations
· Align HR resources and activities to support the annual operation’s business plan
· Actively attend weekly operations meetings
· Serve as point person for employee relations issues and problem solving
· Oversee time and attendance process; including employee training on system. Use data to report attendance and work hour trends
Labor Relations
· Facilitate all aspects of company labor relations providing a responsive, consultative and supportive approach. This includes regular availability/visibility on the floor and attendance in staff meetings
· Manage grievance and discipline processes using Revere’s labor relations techniques (MARC)
· Plan and facilitate the monthly labor relations leadership protocol group
· Regularly meet with and respond to union leadership in a collaborative manner that promotes company direction and culture
· Prepare company strategy for labor agreement negotiations
· Key leader in company union negotiations
· Conduct and prepare cost/benefit analysis for labor agreement changes
· Write labor relations documents including labor agreement
Talent Attraction and Retention
· Execute talent recruiting process, including hourly post/bid
· Represent Revere brand and values through interview and selection process
· Facilitate hourly and salary employee review processes (new hire, probation and annual). Create process for journaling and regular 1-1 check-ins with direct reports.
· Develop and facilitate retention and succession planning processes for hourly and salary employees
· Develop and facilitate career development process
· Develop and facilitate inclusion and diversity workplace strategy
· Use data to report out regularly on these initiatives
Leadership Development
· Collaborate and plan with OE Team to address Revere leadership development needs
· Partner with department heads to create and facilitate employee performance improvement plans using Revere’s leadership skills (LIST) technique
· Fully participate in and promote Revere BMT approach
· Coordinate and facilitate supervisor labor relations training and development
· Conduct leadership training including skills (LIST) training
Policy Development and Implementation
· Adjust or adapt company policies to reflect knowledge and compliance with emerging employment law
· Administer company policies and conduct annual training using a BMT approach
· Educate and guide leadership on key policy issues
· Maintain company handbook
Plant Security
· Manage security process
· Periodically review security standard work; observe and give feedback
Qualifications:
5-7 years human resource leadership experience in collective bargaining environment
Record of successful experience in key HR support role. Ability to apply behavior science to business performance improvement
Office environment may tour or infrequently be exposed to an industrial environment.
Education / Training:
Minimum:
· Bachelor Science in Human Resource Management or equivalent
Preferred:
· Masters Human Resources
· SHRM Certified
· Foundation in Behavior Science

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
