Position Summary
This position is based at our plant in Lodi, CA and provides talent acquisition, training, leadership, guidance and counsel to the plant’s operations and leadership teams on all matters related to human capital. This position reports to the VP of Human Resources.
Principle Accountabilities
-Recruits and interviews all levels of personnel. Ensures new hire paperwork and processes are completed on time and accurately. Facilitates new hire onboarding and 30/60-day check-ins with new hires.
-Guides leaders and employees regarding Company policies, HR programs (benefits, pay and salary) administration and interpretation to ensure policies and procedures are handled consistently and in a timely manner.
-Provides training, guidance and answers employee questions on HR matters including benefits, policies, performance management and other HR related matters.
-Accurately diagnoses organization issues, develops solutions, and implements action plans.
-Ensures activities comply with all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, DFEH, FLSA & DLSE).
-Assists in the administration of performance management programs by providing advice and guidance to managers and supervisors on plan development, performance evaluation, and handling performance deficiencies.
-Provides ongoing oversight and support to ensure that performance reviews are being used to effectively manage operations and identify and manage risks.
-Oversees the performance review process for the plant leadership and operations team. Monitors, evaluates, and makes recommendations regarding compensation (job offers, merit and equity increases, promotions, etc.).
-Collaborates with site and corporate EH&S teams on safety training and workers’ compensation administration.
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated history of overseeing an HR function in an industrial environment. He/she will be adept at tact and diplomacy with a strong tactical aptitude. Additional candidate attributes include but are not limited to:
-Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field and/or SHRM/HRCI certification.
-A minimum of 5 years of prior human resources generalist and Leadership experience is preferred (experience manufacturing and/or distribution operations strongly preferred).
-Understanding of, and some experience with, most or all the core aspects of human resource management (staffing; employee relations; performance management; leadership development; training).
-Experience supporting front-line, field-based client groups is required.
-Front line recruiting experience and executing onboarding and engagement surveys strongly desired.
-Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and poise.
-Must possess consultative style and approach with proven ability to develop credible relationships with business partners.
-Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present their point of view in varied business situations.
-Strong MS Office Skills.
