1st Party Patient Account Representative. (This is an Entry Level Position.)

Shift Available:
Monday – Thursday 9am – 6pm. Friday 8am – 5pm. CST or Monday-Thursday 10am-7pm Friday 9am-6pm EST.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Account Review Representative is a key function supporting the company’s 1st Party clients and Patient Account Representative staff. The role is responsible for communicating by database and e-mail with specialized client review staff to collect and manage patient accounts. The Account Review Representative ensures the timely review and input of account information into the client database for escalated review situations involving insurance claims, patient payments, and bad debt accrual through ongoing database maintenance. In this capacity, the Account Review Representative provides outstanding customer service to customers and vendors through effective and timely communication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both verbally and written.
• Must have a working knowledge of a Windows-based system; experience in word processing and database entry a plus.
• Must possess interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Position continually requires demonstrated self-confidence, skill, and diplomacy.
• Assist in resolving patient accounts within the payment and settlement criteria.
• Some analytical ability is required to gather information from consumers and staff, find solutions and prioritize work.
• Work requires continual attention to detail in data entry of information related to consumer interactions.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing and/or collections practices preferred.
• Strong comprehensive skills – ability to understand directions and take action accordingly.
• Work Hours: Flexible Work Schedule, Monday – Friday.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• GED, High school diploma, or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and briefly, utilizing proper grammar and telephone etiquette.
• Prior PC and keyboard knowledge is a mandatory requirement.
• Ability to compute basic math calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both verbally and written, bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Must have a working knowledge of a Windows-based system; experience in word processing and database entry a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to converse and respond to common inquiries from consumers, office staff, and members of the general public.
• Ability to write business-related documents such as letters, emails, and other business correspondence as needed.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
An employee works in a temperature-controlled office environment. During regularly scheduled work hours, the employee sits at a desk, answers and makes telephone calls using a standard telephone, types on a standard keyboard, and reads and comprehends information from a computer terminal and/or written resources.
