The Job:
This is the perfect job for a designer trying to get their foot in the door. The Junior Designer will work to assist in developing production data under the direct supervision of the Production Designer. The Jr Designer will be playing a supporting role for production designers. This job will lead to a Production Designer role in which the designer will manage own projects.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of SolidWorks is a MUST, AutoCAD a plus.
Knowledgeable in furniture construction a plus.
Willing to learn new details and processes.
Able to think about design details down to the nuts and bolts.
Comfortable managing time across multiple projects at once.
Self-starter who is excited to assist and learn from their teammates.
Ability to produce detailed and organized shop drawings.
Driven to meet tight deadlines.
Enjoy working in a creative and collaborative environment.
Passion for creating quality furniture solutions for today’s top-tier companies.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with fellow designers and managers to hone in on design intent.
Assist in creating intelligent and nimble SolidWorks models of furniture system components and build assemblies from those components in a thoughtful and editable manner.
Procure and categorize finish samples from vendors, per project.
Help create assembly approval drawings for client review.
Review client notes with team to refine designs and secure final approval for production.
Specify hardware and create comprehensive part ordering lists.
Communicate regularly with team to collaborate on project feedback, strategy and planning.
Create complete, informative installation drawings from SolidWorks assemblies.
