Job Title: Human Resources Supervisor

Summary:
The Human Resources Supervisor position catalyzes team member engagement to enhance client experience and provide strategic direction for Absecon Veterinary Hospital (AVH). This position thinks ahead to anticipate the needs of AVH, and provides strategies, planning, facilitation and development. This position must be skilled in communication and analysis, while bringing vision and creativity to AVH.
The Human Resources Supervisor should have a self-motivated, reflective, self-aware, highly organized, and adaptive work style that includes the ability to fulfill a variety of functions in a team environment without direct supervision. This position must work well with all levels of employees.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Bachelors/Masters Degree or certification in Human Resources
3. At least three (3) years of management experience
4. Human Resources and Customer Service experience
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn practice-specific software
6. Positive and professional demeanor, patience and ability to understand client needs
7. Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, detail oriented, with excellent communication and listening skills
8. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment
Essential Functions:
1. Must be able to ambulate/move 50% of time and bend/sit for 50% of time
2. Must be able to ascend/descend two flights of stairs multiple times daily
3. Must have the ability to work in a hospital setting, which includes:
a. Exposure to potential caustic agents, medical grade radiation, and cleaning products
b. Exposure to zoonotic diseases and wounds potentially inflicted by patients
c. Exposure to moderate to loud noises (such as barking)
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Fosters an environment of diversity, inclusion, and teamwork across departments to meet common goals

3. Develops trust, assists employees in managing change, and maintains relationships with employees
4. Influences and motivates employees’ involvement and engagement while promoting AVH culture and brand
5. Facilitates dialogue across differences in personal values and beliefs, while leveraging the benefits of different perspectives
6. Assists administrators as necessary with employee conflicts and promotes solutions to employee grievances
7. Post and monitor job listings on various recruitment sites; identify new recruitment opportunities and strategies
8. Facilitates phone and in-person interviews with applicants; coordinates working interviews as necessary
9. Extends employment offers; coordinates and participates in new employee orientation and onboarding
10. Coordinates training schedule with the input of management team and supervisors
11. Manages employee benefits, 401k enrollments, etc. and provides educational sessions for the staff on these benefits
12. Manages worker’s comp claims and injury reports
13. Manages employee COVID vaccination roster, and COVID testing reports as dictated by OSHA
14. Provides monthly reports to management team regarding recruitment activities
15. Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor and/or management staff
16. Adhering to all Absecon Veterinary Hospital policies and procedures and AAHA standards of operations
17. Attending all supervision and staff meetings as assigned
18. Completing any required internal trainings or continuing education (CEs) required by Absecon Veterinary Hospital, or as required by federal, state, and/or local licensing/certification boards

Pay: $40,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
