About the Role
Huemen is seeking a Director, UI/UX Designer to be an integral part of the Huemen Design organization. The potential candidate should have 9 -12 years of relevant experience, of which 4-5 years includes leading direct reports.They will be assigned to multiple projects and will be responsible for integrating solutions from Product Design team, Digital Solution team and Marketing Services team to create memorable consumer experiences. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily activities of UI/UX designers of a cross-studio team located in 3 locations. They will be building and leading a team that is responsible for designing, developing & productizing holistic experiences grounded in User Centric Design Process. We are looking for an active, hands-on leader with the drive and ambition to help build a studio to its highest potential, support our business development team, understands best-in-class design and inspires it through the work they do and team they lead.

Your Team
Reporting to Director, Digital Design and MV Studio Head. This role will have 2 to 3 direct reports
What You Will Do
User Interface design concepts
Data Gathering methods – Cognitive walkthroughs, Contextual Inquiry, Focus groups, Persona creation, User Research and testing.
GUI design and application strategy experience with emphasis on information architecture and interaction design for software applications.
Experience working with project teams to help define the overall user experience strategy, create interaction models, architect effective solutions using wireframes solutions and prototypes
Analytical skills with the ability to identify and communicate clients’ usability challenges.
Personally responsible to insure the highest quality of design direction, style and methodology
You are a constantly growing and learning to provide expert direction to the team, the clients, and as a thought leader to the industry
Identify and drive process improvements to meet project and team needs
Monitor and drive your team to best utilize the skillset to exceed client expectations and elevate client engagement
Promote a culture of innovation and teamworkbased in professionalism and quality
Inspire your creative team with the energy, passion, and thought leadership to build a long-term healthy organization
Effectively communicate, motivate, coach and develop design excellence
Personally lead and take full responsibility for one top-tier client
Conduct Discovery workshops with customer & relevant stake holders and present the same in a consumable deliverable in the agreed format
What You Need
9+ years relevant experience in digital design, with 4-5 years’ experience in a creative, project and people management role.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Portfolio samples of recent work
Experience collaborating in multifunctional team as the UI/UX design lead
Ability to maintain context on multiple assignments to contribute effectively on all
Ability to spearhead stakeholder discussions
Function as team’s advocate, to the engineering, analytics, sales and project management teams
Strong leadership and people management skills
Strong Knowledge of the design process and program management
What is Nice to Have
Exposure to working across time zone and locations is preferred.
Strong understanding of contemporary technology platforms and emerging technologies
Automotive HMI design and/or Design for/in Mobility experience is preferred
Consulting experience strongly preferred
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to travel up to 20%, domestic and international travel
Be willing to work in an office at least 3 days a week in Mountain View, CA or Seattle, WA
