Position Responsibilities:
Recruiting:
Recruits and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Assists with identifying and implementing efficient and effective recruiting methods, policies and procedures based on the individual position, department industry standards, diversity goals and needs of the organization.
Partners with the Director of HR in employment branding and develop a strategy to position the organization as an employer of choice.
Maintains the Applicant Tracking System. Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, and turnover.
Collects and analyzes data to maintain current understanding of fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
Oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
Organizes and attends job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
Create and conduct Recruiting related presentations and training for hiring managers, as needed.
HR Generalist:
Acts as an employee champion and change agent by assessing and anticipating HR-related needs.
Serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues, including but not limited to, employee engagement, onboarding, employee relations, ADA & religious accommodations, and leaves of absences.
Works closely with the HR Coordinator to ensure the successful onboarding of new hires and confirms all documents and screenings are received prior to start date.
Collaborates with Director of HR to maintain the Company’s unemployment claim process and partners with management to respond to potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
Administers the company’s leave of absence process and monitors claims needing review/escalation.
Maintains compliance with industry, federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. Providing training and implementing tools for leadership to maintain compliance.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Communicates various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations across the organization.
Consults with leadership to assess training needs across the organization and implementing effective training programs.
Provides HR system, process, policy, and program guidance and interpretation to staff and leadership while ensuring timely response to inquiries.
Analyzes trends and metrics to develop effective organizational solutions, programs and policies.
Other Duties:
Complies with all Company policies, procedures, rules and standards.
Manages special projects, as needed.
Travel, as needed, to APT locations, professional/industry conferences, and career fairs.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Education: (include, but are not limited to)
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
1+ years of experience
PHR, SPHR or CP certification a plus!
Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for prolonged periods at desk and working on a computer
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
