Summary: The Human Resources Manager-Irving is responsible for leading the Irving plant HR Department to ensure that the HR team is knowledgeable and has the capacity to provide appropriate support to Irving team members. This position develops initiatives designed to improve culture, recruiting, and human capital management at the Irving plant.

Essential Functions:
Leads the Irving plant HR Department. The incumbent ensures that the plant HR department effectively supports plant operations through delegation of assignments and duties as appropriate and by facilitating optimum performance from each member. The Manager provides guidance on a variety of HR situations and will oversee employee discipline meetings, investigations, and terminations.
Manages the hourly talent acquisition and management process. The incumbent develops strategy and directs the marketing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of hourly plant positions. S/he works actively with production-related groups to develop retention and career development strategies that encourage employee growth. The Manager identifies training opportunities and delivers presentations where appropriate.
Steers plant HR initiatives. The incumbent regularly reviews and makes recommendations to improve plant policies, procedures, and practices with respect to HR-related matters. Through analysis of HR metrics, s/he will develop data-driven strategies and compensation recommendations. The incumbent maintains and educates on compliance with federal and state laws, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree plus 3 years of experience in exempt-level human resources role(s) OR 4 years’ experience as an HR Manager
Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
Demonstrated direct management and leadership of a team
Proficient in both oral and written communication.
Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other e-mail software.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing setting, especially within the food industry
Experience as an HR Manager within a food manufacturing facility
Supervisory Responsibility: Directly supervises a staff of exempt and non-exempt HR professionals
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment, with periodic time spent on a refrigerated manufacturing production floor. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands: The physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting, driving, seeing, and hearing.
Travel: Occasional travel to another facility may be required
