We are looking for a Senior Accountant who can lead, motivate, and inspire the accounting team. As the right hand of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be available to answer and address issues in the absence of the manager. A leader in the making who can roll up their sleeves and help the accounting team in all areas. This position will have the opportunity to develop, growth and lead within the accounting department. We are a fast-paced construction company. A successful Senior Accountant will be able to work under pressure and take extreme ownership over their responsibilities and the department.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP and internal reporting policies
• Assist in the month, quarte, and year-end closing of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statements
• Analytical review of monthly financial statements that includes explaining budget to actual variances
• Accountable for the accuracy of all closing statement deliverables and the timely completion with preset deadlines
• Complete monthly and quarterly sales tax filings
• Complete bank reconciliations as needed
• Verify and reconcile inter-company transactions
• Assist with annual insurance audits
• Inspires others and strives to lead by example while promoting teamwork and accountability
• Empowers staff to make value-based decisions while maintaining budgets and schedules that improve relationships with our customers, vendors, and other trades
• Assists other managers in leading project teams to resolve challenging project issues
• Understand company billing and payroll process to assist as a backup as needed
• Protect organizations values by keeping information confidential

Qualification Requirements:

• BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
• MBA preferred but not required
• Minimum 5 years General Ledger and Journal Entry experience
• Must have intermediate-advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variables
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, in English
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software and willingness and ability to learn other programs
• Proficient in the use of QuickBooks
• Acumatica skills is a plus
• Exhibits and values integrity, teamwork, and an ever-forward attitude
