Mountain View Fire Rescue Hiring for EMS Logistics Technician Job at Longmont, CO Full Time

Under the general direction of the EMS Captain, this position is to provide support to EMS operations by pickup and delivery of assets including personal protective equipment, supplies, EMS supplies, equipment, and tools. Ensures, the transfer of assets between vendors, central supply, administrative offices, and fire stations is completed using district vehicles. The position will aid with logistical central supply operations and will have responsibility for intake, accountability, loading and unloading of assets. This position performs highly responsible and complex administrative, analytical, and professional work. Work involves information sharing with the EMS Division regarding research and development of programs, computer-based asset tracking, equipment, monitoring of existing programs and implementation of special projects. Work is reviewed by the EMS Captain through observation and achievements of desired objectives.

Essential Functions

• Computer based asset tracking.
• Ordering EMS supplies based on stocking levels, supply chain, and price using purchase orders.
• Receive and respond to emails and in-person requests related to EMS supplies.
• Monitor expiring supplies to assure correct amount to restock.
• Maintain EMS supply levels in central supply and fire stations to adequately keep the district operational.
• Prepares and reviews comprehensive statistical information for reports.
• Serves as courier to deliver and retrieve assets from various destinations, including the administrative office, fire stations, hospitals, vendors, etc.
• Drives various District vehicles (truck, van or passenger vehicle) to deliver and pick up supplies.
• Coordinates pickup and deliveries between stations/departments according to schedules, routes, and supervisor’s priorities.
• Receive input and direction from supervisor and must satisfy the district’s needs.
• May move or transport material from one department to another.
• Deliver and retrieve supplies, correspondence and delivering or retrieving supplies from various destinations, including the administrative office, fire stations, hospitals, vendors, etc.
• Assist with annual County ambulance inspections.
• Perform bi-annual physical inventory of Central Supply.
• Attends EMS Division meetings as designated.
• Serve as a liaison between the line staff and the EMS Division.
• Follow District policies and regulations; follows orders and must adhere to an exemplary code of conduct while on duty.

Education and Experience

• High school graduation or equivalent, and one year experience related to logistics, warehouse supply, or inventory management services.
• Current or previous experience as a firefighter and EMT-basic preferred.

Licensing/Certifications

Possess and maintain:

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Satisfactory driving record, with no suspension of that license.
• Must be insurable by the district’s insurance provider.
• CPR certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is conducted both inside and outside with exposure to extreme weather conditions and high hazard situations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must sit for prolonged periods. The employee is regularly required to see, hear, talk, stand, demonstrate manual dexterity, twist, and use repetitive motions in the conduct of work. The employee must also perform lifting to 50lbs. Must be able to work under pressure/stress in non-emergency situations, intermittent intense stress, and response factors. The employee must be able to physically travel between District locations and other destinations.
