Under the supervision of Human Resources Director, this position is responsible for the overall operation of the payroll processes and functions related to successful completion and administration to the bi-weekly payroll. Also responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs.
Payroll Administration
Review payroll documentation, employee time details for accuracy and process full-cycle payroll on a bi-weekly basis
Ensure consistent communication of payroll issues that may arise and obtain necessary approvals from HR Director
Enter employee data into payroll system including collecting COS and Missing Punch Forms from managers/supervisors
Review punch detail reports, wage computation, deductions, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies daily
Verify attendance and hours worked and post information on designated systems and identify any trends
Create and analyze regular reports to cross functional partners including management team (i.e., attendance, time off, headcount and turnover reports)
Manage HRIS system and ensure timely entry of new hire data and change of status
Ensure the integrity of payroll data and employee information (i.e., new hires, tax exemptions, transfers, resignations, pay adjustments, direct deposits, address changes and other pertinent information) to maintain payroll records updated
Researches and resolves questions for managers, supervisors, and employees as they relate to the processing of payroll (i.e., vacation, personal, and sick time, including banking, garnishments, employment verifications, benefit deductions, workers compensation wage requests, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions, etc.)
Issue and record pay related adjustments due to administrative errors or retroactive increases
Maintains personnel and payroll records as set forth in records retention guidelines
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and changes in tax and wage and hour laws that apply to payroll processes
Process termination documentation (termination letters, email notifications)
Manage state unemployment claims site
Performs other duties as assigned and assist in ad hoc projects as deemed necessary to support the Human Resources department or other functions
Benefits Administration
Audits and maintains accurate benefits payments
Partner and maintain relationship with relocation vendor (i.e., processing requests, payments, etc.)
Deliver Benefit Orientation presentation to new hires
Collect proof of dependency for all employees
Partner with leave of absence administrator to manage existing and new claims
Manage Benefits (Benetrac) and COBRA (WexHealth) sites, with processing employee information
Manage and collect payments for employees on leave of absence
Manage open enrollment for workshop (communication, program, vendors, etc.)
Profil
High School Diploma required or GED equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
3-5 years’ payroll experience is required, manufacturing environment a plus
Benefits administration experience a plus
Detail oriented and customer service focused
Computer proficient: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point),
Strong knowledge of Ultipro and Kronos timekeeping system, and JD Edwards knowledge is preferred
Ability to multitask and effectively manage and deal with change in a fast paced and results oriented environment
Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation
Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 25 lbs.
Bilingual: English and Spanish is required, French is a plus
Human Resources knowledge is preferred
