As a Senior Investment Accountant, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by owning accounting reporting, and operations as it relates to funds managed by Pacific Private Fund Advisors LLC (“PPFA”) . PPFA manages a series of private investment funds specializing in middle- and lower-middle market private equity, debt, and co-investment relationships. As part of the private funds team, you will prepare and perform primary review of all key investor deliverables, as well as administration fee, management fee, and carried interest calculations for assigned funds, as well as assisting with year-end audits prepared using investment company accounting. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of ten people in the investment accounting division. Your colleagues will include a diverse team of accountants and fellow investment professionals. Our team performs highly interdependent work and closely collaborates with investment management, investor relations, and corporate treasury.
How you will make an impact:
Prepare all key investor deliverables including quarterly financial statements, reporting packages, and partners’ capital statements for assigned private investment Funds, including private equity and private credit vehicles.
Take full ownership over maintenance and/or oversight of general ledger for assigned Funds; prepare/review journal entries for cash, investment valuation true ups, accruals, unfunded commitments, etc .
Responsible for assisting with year-end audits: oversee preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors ; assist with tax compliance for pass-through entities, including state filings .
Responsible for fund analytics and portfolio management deliverables on an ongoing and recurring basis as applicable ; p repare and/or perform primary review of documentation related to capital calls, distributions, revenues, expenses, etc.
Maintain and monitor shared email inboxes for assigned Funds; communicate with portfolio funds as necessary.
The experience you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
5+ years of experience in accounting (preferably public accounting, investment management, or fund administration)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word) is required
Ability to multi-task and adjust quickly in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to change priorities to meet critical deadlines
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
What will make you stand out:
CPA, Masters in Accounting, advanced degree in finance/business preferred, but not required
Prior experience with FIS Investran is a plus
Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
