POSITION DESCRIPTION
I. TITLE: Human Resources Manager
II. SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
III. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
Three years HR experience preferred
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
IV. FUNCTION:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing essential human resource functions across the organization. The Human Resources Manager will lead a team of personnel managers in performing the following functions: recruitment/employment, employee relations, employment law compliance, onboarding, performance management, policy implementation, and benefits administration. The position will effectively work with our HR and payroll software, creatively using technology to improve efficiency.
This position will also successfully communicate with the business office and NOVA’s administrators.
V. DUTIES:
The duties of the Human Resource Manager include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Serves as a resource to all employees, supervisors, and key leaders on personnel matters and instills in all an awareness of best workplace and employment practices.
2. Works with NOVA’s leadership team on projects aimed at nurturing employee relations, improving morale, and building employee engagement.
3. Effectively identifies/anticipates needs and makes recommendations to implement new strategies and procedure changes that address complex business issues.
4. Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of personnel policies and procedures.
5. Fully utilizes the HR and payroll software to assist in human resource functions.
6. Supervises the screening and recruitment of new employees. Drafts and implements recruiting and hiring strategies to attract high quality, mission-driven employees.
7. Supervises the new employee orientation and onboarding experience, ensuring we have a program that excites our new employees, provides adequate training, and sets them up for success.
8. Manages applicant tracking system.
9. Ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws as well as credentialing agencies by maintaining accurate employee records.
10. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports as needed.
11. Assists in benefits administration and maintains good communication with the Business
Department regarding employee benefits.
12. Assists with open enrollment.
13. Ensures consistent application of approved company-wide and specific employee relations policies and practices.
14. Works with personnel managers, supervisors, and employees to investigate and resolve employee relation issues.
15. Assists as needed in responding to unemployment claims and appeals.
16. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
17. Complies with all NOVA policies and procedures.
18. Other duties as assigned to include, but not be limited to:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
