The Department of Physics and Engineering at Ripon College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position in
Engineering at the Assistant/Associate level starting August 2024. All engineering backgrounds and fields will be considered. Ph.D. in
engineering or related field is preferred; ABD will also be considered.
Ripon College is building a B.S. program in Engineering
and will pursue ABET accreditation. Ripon’s engineering program will provide a strong technical engineering foundation while
delivering valuable liberal arts skills through the College’s award-winning Catalyst curriculum. The College’s first group of
engineering students will arrive on campus in fall 2024 and their arrival will coincide with the completion of a $25 million renovation and
addition to our current science center. With the completion of the building project, the Engineering program will have dedicated faculty
offices, dedicated faculty research spaces, a fully equipped makerspace, a workshop, an intermediate engineering lab, and an advanced
engineering lab. In addition, other spaces in the science center will be shared with Physics and other disciplines. Engineering will have
access to advanced research equipment for faculty research and faculty/student research. Financial support is available to help build up the
equipment in the Physics and Engineering department. In addition, financial support is available to support and promote faculty research in
Engineering. The department is establishing strong connections to industrial partners in the Fox Valley Region and the state of Wisconsin.
These connections will enable us to offer industry-informed senior design challenges and provide students with internship opportunities.
This is a unique opportunity for a qualified and highly motivated engineer to help shape and build a competitive and high-achieving
Engineering program.
The faculty at Ripon College is a talented and dynamic group of teacher-scholars who participate in
interdisciplinary collaboration with one another on scholarship and creative activity. The faculty benefits from wide-ranging opportunities
for support including curriculum development grants, travel grants, scholarly/artistic grants, and colleague teaching grants. Successful
applicants for faculty positions at Ripon College will join a group of teacher-scholars who embrace the standards of social justice; value
the principles of equity and inclusion; and seek to foster and facilitate student achievement at all levels.
