About the Position
The Trades Generalist is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of Maricopa County facilities, including keeping spaces, structures, and infrastructure in proper operating condition in a routine, scheduled, or anticipated fashion to prevent failure or degradation. Your expertise will be valued, and your knowledge expanded while you continue to build your career with the County.
Shift: Monday and Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM; Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Shift: Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
About Us
As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. Our broad range of services includes various aspects of the ongoing operations and maintenance of all County-owned facilities, management of all facility projects, and in-house design services.

Working Conditions
The physical environment requires work to be performed both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Must be able to function independently or in a team working environment and interact professionally with members of the public, vendors, coworkers, and supervisors. Position requires one to regularly position self to repair, remodel, troubleshoot, and maintain various components used by the County, including ascending and descending ladders, climbing stairs, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching and grasping including fine manipulation. Must be able to lift arms above shoulders, lifting/deadlifting (floor to waist) of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to hear, see, and read. Work assignments are performed under some temperature extremes, confined areas, high noise levels, dim lighting, dust or smoke, potential contagious diseases, and traumatic subject matter. Exposure to various forms of hazardous energy sources relating to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Must be capable of using multiple forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to fulfill the requirements of the position. Working environments include adult and juvenile detention facilities, medical facilities, public health, forensics, courts, and related justice facilities
