Childcare Teacher Substitute – Spanish or French Language Immersion

Atlas Immersion Academy is privately owned early childhood business, running two Child Care Centers and two Certified Family Facilities in the greater Portland metropolitan area. Atlas currently operates French and Spanish language immersion programs for children from 0 to 12 years old.

Our Substitute Teachers typically work anywhere from 4-20 hours/week, Monday-Friday, with children in any age group at either of our campuses. Candidates who are fluent in French or Spanish are preferred, but all levels of French or Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth following the Atlas Curriculum
• Create a fun and safe learning environment in cooperation with the other teachers in the classroom
• Maintain schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
• Maintain positive relationships with students and parents; keep the communication going between school and families using our communication software.
• Maintain the health and safety of all students

• Offer an immersive environment to the students when possible

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
• Passionate about working with children; positive and patient demeanor

• Ability to build quick rapport with children
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, stand and sit for a long period of time.
• Legal right to work in the U.S. (we do not sponsor visas)
• Enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry
