About Our Job
This position entails the use of medium equipment such as Z mowers, Toro 4000, Toro 5910, medium sized tractors under 60 horsepower, forklift, small dump trucks and trash trucks, landscape trailers, and small gas-powered handheld equipment.
Job Description:
Operation of mowing and other various equipment in assigned work areas. Performs work on common grounds at park locations throughout the County.
Assist with transportation of equipment to and from park locations, equipment service providers and other areas as needed.
Use of handheld tools to assist co-workers in accomplishing daily tasks at various park locations. Tools to include string trimmer, blower, rake, shovel etc. This also includes debris removal or other park related cleanup needs.
Routine Maintenance of assigned equipment.
Paperwork activities such as P-card receipts, invoices and completion of work orders.
Work Hours: 40 Hours Per Week – 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Job Competencies: Operation of mowers, tractors, forklift, and various other turf related equipment. Safety, hazard and maintenance knowledge and processes on listed equipment.
**Certifications for Safety Training: Asbestos Cement Piping (Class-II), Blood Borne Pathogens, Chainsaw Safety, Competent Person-OSHA Standard, Confined Space Entry, Fire Extinguisher, Forklift Safety, Hazcom, Hearing Protection, Heavy Equipment Safety, Lock-out/Tag-out, Maintenance of Traffic-Intermediate, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Maximo Basics, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Trenching and Excavation Safety-OSHA Standard, Water Distribution Systems, Wastewater Collection System Cleaning & Maintenance, Wastewater Spill Sample Collection and Workplace Violence.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
