The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the people, processes, and programs of a Sun Health Senior Living community’s sales offices, as well as selling Life Care Contracts. These efforts will include both implementing and monitoring measurable sales goals for calls, appointments, event attendance, deposits, occupancy levels and revenue generation for the community. The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for communicating the sales and marketing goals to the larger community team and emphasizing the importance of creating a positive customer experience that inspires prospects to want to move to the community.
In order to advance measurable sales results, the Sales and Marketing Manager will create and maintain effective collaboration, communication, and sales focus with various internal partners to include: the Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing, Executive Director, community executive team, and community operations associates (as well as any advertising firm if applicable). From these collaborative efforts, the Sales and Marketing Manager will work to advance lead generation and marketing tactics for the community.
Compensation: This position is salaried exempt and eligible for sales commissions for both personal sales as well as sales of the Residency Counselors.
Schedule: This position is mostly 8am-5pm Monday- Friday with some evenings and weekends.
Remote Work: This position is partially remote due to COVID-19. Some work will be optional to complete remotely while some will be required on-site.
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
· Plan and direct all sales activities, which includes managing the community’s Residency Counselors and Sales Support staff (“sales team”).
· Generate sales referrals from potential resident and community contacts. Helps conduct sales presentations and events designed to increase sales leads.
· Respond to requests for information in a timely manner.
· Provide accurate reports to all appropriate parties utilizing, in part, the lead management software.
· Maintain regular contact with existing leads and prospects and tracks progress.
· Participate in ongoing personal training and development through constant improvement in selling skills by attending sales training meetings and reading motivational and sales-oriented material.
· Remain informed about the local real estate market, the customer profile in your market, competitor communities, and industry and customer trends.
· Build trust and strong cross functional relationships within the community and operational structure.
· Work closely with Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing to establish a weekly exchange of information on inventory and other sales issues in order to anticipate and prioritize next steps, as well as communicate with the internal sales team.

Supervisory Responsibilities
· Ensures that the sales team follows the SHSL sales processes, including the maintaining of up to date and accurate records of progress within the lead management system.
· Supervise all members of the sales team including coordinating and approving time off, training and motivating, conducting performance evaluations, counseling, while directing and managing the workflow of the department.
· Review residency applications to identify and correct any issues prior to submission for approval.
· Manage, process and verify canceled and transferred leads and waiting lists.
· Responsible for the sales team achieving the community’s sales and move in goals.
· Ensures the sales team exceed service standards.
· Provide assistance and/or advice to other Residency Counselors with regard to the handling of their prospects when necessary or when required.
· Assess learning needs of sales team at various job levels, assisting in their professional development by identifying competency levels, writing reviews and creating growth plans
· Provide coaching on a day to day basis and assist sales team members in applying skills/knowledge to on-the-job performance
· Provide sales coaching and mentoring to sales team, including identifying top prospects, and the needed sales strategies to move these prospects forward to closing the transaction.
· Provide training to assure accurate reporting and distribution of reports to appropriate parties.
· Provide input into the development of marketing and sales plans to achieve occupancy goals.
Education and Experience
· Associate’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations/Communications or related field, and three to five years’ experience in marketing/sales in senior living setting with supervisory experience, or the equivalent in experience and education.
· Real estate or consulting experience a plus.
· Previous management experience highly preferred.
· Experience with lead management database system required.
· Proven sales experience preferred.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and train on the systems and processes.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $60,724.00 per year
