An Abstractor III supervises subordinate abstractors engaged in the searching of legal documents and official records and abstracting information pertaining to land titles; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy Information:
There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Design and Construction, Land Division, located in Honolulu. Under the general supervision of the Abstractor lV, the Abstractor III directs project activities through subordinates on a number of complex projects assigned to the unit, performs work in searching legal documents pertaining to land titles, and supervises staff involved in the examination, abstracting, gathering, and analyzing of various land transfer documents pertinent to land titles and transactions.
Special Work Requirements: Position requires light lifting and walking to various government offices.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience that demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Five years of experience in the searching or recording of land titles.
Such experience must demonstrate knowledge of legal documents relating to land titles and transactions; sources of information and material relating to land title search; and the ability to analyze legal material; summarize information concisely and accurately; write reports; assign and review the work of subordinates.
