The role:
ACLED is recruiting a Human Resources Officer with focus on employee lifecycle to support the recruitment and hiring processes and procedures. This is a full-time position. It is fully remote and can be done from any location with reliable internet service. The start date for this position is April 2022. This position reports to the HR Coordinator. Specific roles and responsibilities:
Core responsibilities:
Implementing all aspects of staff and contractor recruitment, as directed by the Human Resources Coordinator. Supporting and participating in all recruitment processes, overseeing the process to ensure procedures are followed in a fair and transparent manner.
Core tasks associated with these responsibilities will include:
Recruitment/Onboarding/Offboarding
Lead on organization-wide internal and external recruitment including, but not limited to, job ads, candidate identification, candidate screening, interviews, references, and background checks;
Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details;
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies;
Assist with the new employee orientation and onboarding;
Assist with offboarding, including conducting exit interviews;
Training the staff on recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding procedures;
Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
Administration
Assist with human resources documentation and record management, including researching tools and systems required;
Any other tasks that fall within the remit of recruitment and more general human resources as determined by the HR Coordinator.
Skills and competencies:
Fluency in English (essential)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good judgment and extremely high attention to detail
Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines with limited supervision
Experience working in a fast-paced and multicultural office (preferred)
Strong problem-solving skills
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, social sciences, psychology, nonprofit management, international relations, or a related field (essential)
SHRM or similar certification (preferred)
Experience in a similar role (working in human resources, office administration or management, counseling or case work for a non-profit) – (preferred)
Experience working in peacebuilding, conflict, human rights, and/or global affairs (preferred)
