Our Human Resource team is looking for a talented HR Generalist to help support the efforts of our fast-growing company. The position will be based in our Oakland, California office. Adapture Renewables, Inc. is majority owned by KIRKBI – the private holding and investment company of the Kirk Kristiansen family founded to build a sustainable future for the LEGO® brand through generations.
Overview
This position will work in our Human Resource team and will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, onboarding, maintain HRIS system, benefits, leave of absences, worker’s compensation, training, employee recognition, and other administrative responsibilities. In addition, the Human Resources Generalist will work directly with the head of human resources to develop processes, policies, and procedures.
Core Responsibilities
Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations.
Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.
Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization, and to improve employee experience.
Assist with training an HR Assistant.
Assist with diversity strategies.
Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, organizational change, and all other employee- relations matters.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to the head of human resources.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or PHR Certificate preferred, but not required.
Minimum 3 – 5 years of direct experience as a HR generalist.
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
