OVERVIEW:
A research institute of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Machine Learning is looking for a Human Resources Generalist.
The HR Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. Their duties include comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, drafting templates for HR documents and working with other members of the department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for company employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
- Work with Head of Operations to implement Human Resources programs within assigned site
- Conduct employment and onboarding process for new hires
- Ensure compliance with appropriate state and federal employment legislation
- Lead and promote HR initiatives and programs that align with corporate goals and values
- Drive and implement HR policy and procedure initiatives that focus on enhancing the business, process improvements and documentations
- Assist in audits including HRIS system, 401(k), Benefits database, Immigration database, Workers Compensation.
- Conduct and resolve investigations regarding Company issues
- Responsible for the response to employee complaints regarding any HR issues
- Assist in developing and implementing recruiting strategy to support site; manage and organize HR teams to meet client group recruiting support needs (posting jobs, sourcing resumes, screening applicants, job fairs, college recruitment, etc.)
- Other duties requested by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of California Wage and Hour policies and practices.
- Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, OSHA and related state and federal regulations.
- Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels.
- Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to influence leadership and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Able to work productively and independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized. Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Able to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Detailed, accurate, and organized; Ability to inform others about company benefits, policies, and procedures.
