Job Summary:
The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for assessing the needs and development of learning plans, content, process, and systems in response to organizational needs. The manager will develop and direct the activities that provide learning and development opportunities to internal clients across the enterprise by applying broad enterprise knowledge and professional competency. The Manager leads projects and teams to result in the development, implementation, and delivery of complete, critical, and innovative solutions that support the learning and development strategy.
This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct or direct high complexity learning events, trainings, and activities
- Acts as internal consultant to all levels of management, in order to resolve complex/critical learning and development issues
- Effectively communicates development as a business imperative by linking to business outcomes
- Designs services and programs, directly and through a team of direct reports, to retain, develop, and prepare talent for new and expanded accountabilities
- Attends, develops, and plans company-wide leadership development events and activities
- Owns relationships and gains in depth knowledge of client groups, understands their objectives and goals, and integrates development opportunities and strategies within targeted areas
- Actively works with business partners, client services, and Areas of Responsibilities (AORs) to ensure that learning and development practices are understood and supported
- Sustains and grows knowledge of the learning and development industry through benchmarking and maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional associations and educational groups)
- Effectively manages and leads teams; executes all talent management processes (e.g., select talent, develop talent, evaluate talent, etc.)
- Owns elements of department’s business operations accountabilities (e.g., budget, measurement, project management office, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- 7 or more years of related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Functional Skills
- Strong client focus with outstanding judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Strong presentation skills with subject matter expertise and experience to communicate and provide recommendations to managers and HR
- Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of business software
- Ability to think strategically, conceptually, analytically and creatively in order to effectively manage projects
- Advanced time management skills including ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and organize, and create alignment and buy in from clients and direct reports
- Demonstrated clear, concise and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish, manage and leverage relationships with internal and external partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced consulting skills and presence
Compensation Data
Compensation range for this position is $100,400 – $140,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
