JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

As a Diversity Sourcing Specialist Sr., you’ll be responsible for crafting and executing a diverse sourcing strategy, with an emphasis on passively sourcing diverse candidates. You’ll also leverage internal resources to develop social media sourcing campaigns, recruitment marketing initiatives, results-orientated ideas to cultivate diverse pipeline and coordinate virtual and onsite hiring events.  The Sourcing Specialist will have a primary focus to connect high potential candidates / future interest candidates and Clients by creating a pipeline against the aligned function area of support. The Specialist will report to the Director of Talent Acquisition and will be a highly collaborative partner with the DEI Manager and overall AEP business unit leaders. The Sourcing Specialist will be instrumental in the success of AEP’s growing and evolving organizational needs including current and future DEI initiatives.

• Works with the TA team and hiring managers to ensure accurate understanding of job requirements and expectations to execute sourcing strategies that would align to business needs.
• Assist with the execution of the sourcing mission, strategy, tools and processes for a given Business Unit.
• Builds applicant sources and implements creative recruiting strategies to attract qualified professionals by researching social media, internet sites, etc. to attract and recruit talent.
• Develops and maintains social networking and participates in professional organizations extensive talent pools of highly qualified, diverse candidates to fill current and future needs.
• Initiates and acts on innovative resource strategies focusing on DEI – (e.g., DoD Skillbridge program) or other focused groups; partnering with employee resource groups – designed to encourage diverse slates of candidates.
• Utilizes technology (job boards, ATS, CRM, etc.) to attract, identify, and communicate with candidates to encourage interest in particular postings.
• Proactively networks, sources and refers qualified candidates to Talent Acquisition Specialist for consideration.
• Assist with the pre-screening and delivery of active and interested candidates to the supported Sourcing/Recruiting Team.
• Performs research on the talent markets to determine the supply vs demand, competitor intelligence and talent pools.
• Capture and report on key metrics that show results, trends and opportunities in key talent markets and supported business.
• Utilizes hiring and sourcing statistics to continually improve in making informed decisions.
• Assist with the research and maintenance of creative sourcing tools and resources.
• Develops and maintains professional relationships with college, University and community college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants. 
• Schedules and attends job/career fairs with appropriate staff to generate qualified applicants.
• Promotes a consistent Company brand to candidates and applicants.  
• Collaborate with DEI team to develop new channels for diversity sourcing.
• Partner and build relationships with HBCUs and other institutions in collaboration with the DEI team

Requirements

Education requirements are listed below:
Bachelor’s degree, human resource management or related field.
Work Experience requirement listed below:

• Experience using creative sourcing methods including internet sourcing techniques, referral management, and passive candidate outreach techniques.  Knowledge of human resources evaluation methods, policies, practices and procedures, including EEO, ADA, and AAP/OFCCP compliance. Basic knowledge of Uniform Employee Selection Procedure and Employment Interviewer certification.
• 5 years’ demonstrated sourcing or recruiting experience with an agency or in-house recruiting team from entry level through management level positions including one year of knowledge and experience working with electronic applicant systems and internet recruiting sources.
• 2+ years of demonstrated Diversity, Equity & Inclusion experience, with focus on recruitment of underrepresented talent (preferred).
• Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:
  • Valid driver’s license.
